Amanda Beggs is an award winning sound mixer who’s breaking stereotypes as a women in cinema audio and a woman in STEM / STEAM! She’s worked in the sound department on Star Trek, Star Wars, Star Tours at Disneyland and WDW. Amanda’s sound department credits include Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek Beyond & Into Darkness, Grey’s Anatomy and a ton of other projects. On top of that, she was just #Emmynominated! Audrey Whitby is gold & the Audrey Whitby - Joey Bragg relationship is a Young Hollywood Mini Power Couple of Comedy! You know her as Cherry on The Thundermans. I first saw Audrey Whitby on So Random! (Sonny With a Chance semi-spin-off) was my first time seeing her on TV! Audrey is so…incredibly…talented! Her sense of timing and acting chops are so on-point! It’s incredible to see her at work with Joey Bragg on Betch (which also has a few other Liv and Maddie faces). Just after we filmed the intro, we got word back from American High at her upcoming movie, Sid Is Dead, with Joey Bragg (Liv and Maddie), G Hannelius (Dog with a Blog and Sonny with a Chance), Mary Stuart Masterson, and even Jack Griffo (The Thundermans) is in post production!
So, as we were packing up at the end of last year’s Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2019 orange carpet, there was Audrey! I couldn’t have been happier to see her! We met Maulik & huge Disney Composer Danny Jacob at the Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension premiere. Since we’ve learned that Phineas and Ferb: Candace Against the Universe won’t be arriving until the end of August (think of it like the 104th day of summer vacation) we have even more unseen interviews and behind the seen Phineas and Ferb fun to share with you! So you might recognize Maulik Pancholy from a few other shows too… 30 Rock The Good Fight Elementary The Good Life The Comeback The Sopranos Dynasty and more. It’s Harry Potter vs. Artemis Fowl! Josh Gad is the Hagrid of Artemis Fowl & Gilderoy Lockhart directed! Let’s talk about the connection & flash back to my secret Frozen Olaf interview with Josh Gad! Dan & Swampy redefined animation for Gen Z via Phineas and Ferb & Milo Murphy’s positivity & ingenuity! With Candace Against the Universe & Disney+ on the way, we’ll talk crossover secrets, timelines, and animation industry changes! Every fan of Phineas and Ferb, Milo Murphy’s Law, Pete the Cat, and animation in general will see something special in this one! We’ll even get into some talk about earlier projects Dan and Swampy worked on, such as The Simpsons and Family Guy! There’s a bit of backstory to why this interview was so important! We can’t even being to tell you how infinitely MeGa-Special this interview is to us! This is the 10 Year Anniversary of our very first interview with Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh. Back in February, 2009, 8 year-old Piper Reese, on her 2nd day in LA, made her first trip to the Walt Disney Animations studios to do an interview at Phineas and Ferb’s headquarters in the Frank G. Wells building on the Disney Studios lot. After a smile from Courtney Thorne Smith on the way into the building, Piper was greeted by every single member of the Phineas and Ferb team. She was treated like a visiting princess (everyone there knew her name when she arrived). Dan and Swampy took the time to answer every question, show her all around their studio, and introduce her to every person she walked by. Dan explained the animation process and showed her his earliest sketches for Phineas and Ferb. Swampy showed his his shark-chomped Phineas & Ferb surfboard. They even gave her a tour around the Disney Studios Lot and through the special underground passageway where Walt had animators carry their hand-drawn cells to keep them safe from the elements. In our 12+ year history, it’s still at the top of our list of special days. Every time we’ve seen Dan or Swampy, they’ve taken the time to do an interview or ask how she’s doing. In an Industry that can be rough (to say the least), Dan and Swampy have been two shining examples of great people who love what they do and have constantly reminded us of the good side of the entertainment Industry. At an early age, Piper got a great sense for how the animation side of the Industry can often be a very special and different end of the business. We’ve seen that repeat through the years with others in the animation field, whether we’ve been at Disney Animation, Nickelodeon, or Dreamworks. There’s something different that isn’t always as easy to recognize in the live-action side. So, flash forward to 10 years later. It’s been years since we’ve had a chance to interview Dan and Swampy together (the last one was probably on the red carpet at the Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension premiere). With ten years having passed since the first one and the success that Phineas and Ferb went on to, we really wanted to do a new interview and give a little extra focus on Dan and Swampy themselves in addition to getting into details about Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy’s Law and Surfer Jack Productions, Swampy’s own production company that is producing an animated version of the Pete the Cat book series on Amazon. For this one, we did an intro on the spot at the studio instead of a separate recording. We’ve got some graphic and sound thrown in, but this interview is about the shows, answering some fangirl/fanboy questions, learning about animation, and sharing the visit with you guys! We’re talking CW’s Arrowverse MeGa-Crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths, Tom Welling & Erica Durance from Smallville & our unseen Ashley Scott interview! Yup! Huntress Helena Kyle from Birds of Prey! This is a major HuMoNGoID geeked-out DC Comics episode and we’re getting into everything we know about the guests in Crisis on Infinite Earths to date! We’ll start off with Brandon Routh! Piper was five years old when we took her to see Brandon in Superman Returns at a movie theater in Miami! We would have never thought that after all these years as Ray Palmer / ATOM from DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Brandon would “return” to his roots as Superman in an Arrowverse crossover! Seriously!? That’s really going all-out! Next, Smallville! OK - Adam here. This one is my all-time favorite show. There were a few of quirks episodes over the ten year run, but overall, the writing, cinematography, and acting were just awesome (especially those discussions between Lex and Lionel Luthor! (We still joke about when Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) was known as “Sexy Lexy” in the early Smallville days). The Berlanti team has said more than once that without Smallville, there wouldn’t have been an Arrowverse. They’ve payed homage here and there in the past, but now…they’re bringing Tom Welling and Erica Durance, Lois and Clark, back together! We’re going to revisit the Kent Farm and see what they’re up to 10 years later! I’m super-excited about this one. If you like Superman lore and haven’t seen Smallville, you’re seriously missing out! Definitely get a hold of it and start watching! We’re not finished yet! Next, we’re jumping over to an exclusive, unseen interview we did with Ashley Scott, aka The Huntress, Helena Kyle, about her role on Birds of Prey. (YES! She went by “Kyle” in the cult classic series instead of Helen Wayne.) Helena is the daughter of Batman and Batwoman…Bruce Wayne and Selena Kyle! She’s from the bronze storyline (for those comic geeks out there). The new Birds of Prey movie with Margot Robbie involves a different iteration of the Huntress, Helena Bertinelli. Birds of Prey was a cult classic that only got one season! We highly recommend picking up the DVD! It’s got a cartoon mini-serious featuring some of the villainous women of the DC universe! So, there’s a LOT of info in this episode and a super-special and rare interview with a younger Piper! US from Jordan Peele is one of the most amazing movies I’ve seen! We’re getting behind the scenes secrets with Evan Alex and Madison Curry (yup, Adelaide Wilson / Young Red and Jason Wilson / Pluto)!
Us is one of those horror movies that transcends the genre because of its ability to create deep thought in the minds of the viewers as well as its elements of classic horror. The film keeps high tension throughout the entire run time as well as allowing for a variety of interpretation and thought-provocation.
These two MeGa-AwEsOmE young actors had pivotal roles in the horror movie and they’ve got HUGE personalities on the red carpet. They also are some of the most talented young actors on the big screen. Madison’s love for horror will continue to show through her brilliant work, and Evan’s amazing acting and physicality in the film will help him shine as well! It was incredible to speak with these young actors and get their tips, opinions, and thoughts on the film.
It was great to see Jordan’s work again on the big screen and in a ToTaLLy immersive 3D environment in the Us maze at Universal Studio’s Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights!

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood is Piper’s favorite event of the year, but this time was ToTaLLy over the top because we have an interview with DAN AKYROYD! We asked about working on #Ghostbusters2020 and The Second City vs. Groundling and bridging comedy and fright! (Watch for the The Second City vs. Groundlings question. Sofie Dossi is a self-taught aerialist, contortionist, hand balancer and even an AGT Golden Buzzer Contestant and Finalist…and she first learned her skills on YouTube! Universal Studios Hollywood had the park decorated with lanterns, Mandarin speaking Megatron, a minion, Hello Kitty, Mr. Ping in his noodle shop and, of course Po from Kung Fu Panda doing a martial arts demonstration! There was an artist showing how to draw Kung Fu Panda characters, wishing trees you can post wishes on and lots more! Since Piper had college midterm exams, Parker and Adam covered. Beverly Hills 90120 is back in the news and may be back on TV soon with a bunch of the original cast! So, we went into our archive and pulled out this SuPeR-Cute interview where I talked to Ian Ziering about the legacy key, whether Steve was actually a good guy at heart and his adorable princess Penna Mae’s opinion on A Good Dinosaur vs. Sharknado! I’m a HUGE fan of Beverly Hills 9010! At the time, I was on Season 5 of the show. I think Ian gave me a bit of a test to see if I really know my stuff. OK you guyz…need I saw anything other than Rachael Leigh Cook!?!? I’m a major 90s and early 2000s movie fan, so meeting Josie from Josie and the Pussycats and Laney Boggs from She’s All That was ToTaLLy and unequivocally the highlight of the Firework App launch party for me! Virtual video games and Two Bit Circus are MeGa-Kewl, but…JOSIE!!!! If you haven’t seen those movies, they pretty much define teen and young entertainment of their time, similar to how John Hughes movies defined the 80s. Rachael is also in Nancy Drew and My First Wedding plus a bunch of TV series: Las Vegas, Psych, Titan Maximum, Dawson’s Creek, Perception on TNT etc. Yeah, it’s a long list! She’s in a new, modern take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream now too! Star Wars fans may want to tune in there too! If you really know your pre-Disney Star Wars lore, you may have heard of Jaesa William. She’s a Padawan in Star Wars: The Old Republic…who turned to the Dark Side (and is, well, different than pretty much all other Sith we’ve seen). Any chance of her appearing as a Sith in a post-Disney Star Wars world? You know you wanna know, so I’m asking (it’s a Piperazzi thing)! Rachael also does voice work in Robot Chicken (Beru Lars, Evil-Lyn, Rey and Princess Zelda!),Batman Beyond, and Kingdom Hearts.

Blame it on Stranger Things, but the Piperazzi was going through some recent premieres and ran into an interviews with Dacre Montgomery and RJ Cyler on the Power Rangers 2017 movie premiere red carpet at the Village Theater in Westwood, CA! I don’t know if Dacre’s better known for the Red Power Ranger or Billy Hargrove (the reallllly not-so-nice brother) on Stranger Things at this point! 💙Also, it was ToTaLLy-AwEsOmE meeting RJ Tyler! It’s our ToTaLLy 100% Joshua Rush Exclusive interview...and YES, Piper asked about Cyrus being Disney Channel’s first openly gay or #LGBTQ character on Andi Mack. But, that’s not why we’re keeping this interview long. The reason for the length is Joshua himself! He’s funny, super-smart, sincere, sweet and AwEsOmE to talk to! So, last September, we released another one of our MeGa-kEwL interviews with Cree Cicchino & Madisyn Shipman. HoLy PiPeRoNi! We finally made it to the TWiT Studios! TWiT has been a MaJoR-HuGe inspiration behind Piper’s Picks TV since we launched nearly 10 YEARS ago! When we started in South Florida back in 2007, there was no other online entertainment news show. We couldn’t even find anyone else in the entertainment industry on Twitter (including Disney and Nick)! Almost nobody had heard of podcasting. We were playing in a space still only known to techies and geeks. We were there and learned a lot about it from watching Leo Laporte, aka The Tech Guy! Leo took his radio and Tech TV background and created a future model for online broadcasting. TWiT shows how well produced, professional content can be delivered online and compete with the cable channels and news networks at a very small fraction of the cost (and with much more involvement with viewers). Today, Leo and his team are producing about 20 podcasts per week from TWiT.TV and pulling in 7 million downloads per month. There’s a ton of TWiT content you’ll want to check out. All goes wrong from the get-go! When I tried to do my intro…well, YOU tell me what went wrong! 4 years later, I’m still not sure (and I don’t know if I ever will be). We eventually move on to talking about saving whales, saving turkeys, Tom Hanks, changing history, and voicing a computer (Majel Roddenberry would be so impressed)! HoLy PiPeRoNi! STEVE CARELL part 2!!!! OK, lemme back up for you guys! Yesterday was the MeGa-AwEsOmE world premiere for Despicable Me 3! It’s the third installment (we’ll count Minions as a separate one) in the most despicable cartoon franchise of them all (you know, in that universe where despicable means ultra-kewl-major)! If you’ve been watching Piper’s Picks, you probably saw our first interview with Steve Carell! People always ask what celebrities are like in person. Well, Steve is really super genuine and nice, just like he seems like he’d be. So, it’s really great to interview someone like that! Oh yeah, he’s funny too! His alter-ego (or alter egos in this case) are pretty kewl too, even if they are balancing between good and evil. In Despicable Me 3, Steve Carell is working double-duty playing Gru and his blonde twin brother Dru! There’s a new car too…a despicamobile! They actually had one at the premiere. I sat in it…the security dog sat in it…the other security dog would not sit in it. Anyway, let’s move on. Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures did some really kewl stuff for the big day. So, as a special bonus and a way to get these interviews out fast, we decided to add on a special extra interview to this episode with one of Gru’s 3 favorite kids, Edith! It’s my first interview with Dana Gaier! Edith is the super-cute middle child who seems to have just a touch of that middle-child syndrome, then ratcheted up some! FIRST of all, Major HuMoNGoiD CONGRATS to the Andi Mack cast and crew on the 2ND SEASON pickup (as IF anyone even doubted that one happen)! Number one show, as we predicted, in like every girl-who-can-read demographic through tweens. So, there we were at Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2017 and, not only were Peyton Elizabeth Lee and Asher Angel there too, but so was Sofia Wylie (aka Buffy)! We almost…didn’t release this one because it went a little off course when we were stopped in the middle from singing by someone’s Dad! Almost! (Nope, not that Dad you’re thinking!) We thought we’d have to cut too much out. BUT, Sofia Wylie is so real and MeGa-Sweet every time I see her that we didn’t want to do that. TeamPiper decided to leave the whole Daddus-interruptus in for you guyz to check out. Why! Well, as Roger Rabbit would say…”’Cause it’s funny!!!!” OK, admitted, this sentence is only here for people who either love reading our descriptions or like not clicking play. Seriously! What!? Lilimar and Brec Bassinger are both working on new shows!? Of course they are! I caught up with these two MeGa-AwEsOmE girlies at Kids Choice Awards 2017. Between “the carpet is closing” announcements, we pulled out a fewww details. Yeah, we did some wardrobe talk too! You all know that Brec moved over from Bella and the Bulldogs to School of Rock where she’s playing Kale. She filmed a TV movie/pilot with Forever In Your Mind called Forever Boys! The #FIYM boys are playing teen vampires from the 60s who are now in high school, in a boy band, and in modern day times. It sounds a little like JONAS, but with much more of a “bite” to it. Haha! Get it!? Bite!? Ha! (OK, I’m wasting too many bytes on that one. Yeah, I know…🙄). OK, as for Lilimar! There’s been a little more secrecy about what she’s been up too, but we now know it's called Knight Squad and it's set at a magical school for knights (hmmm...WOWP sounding, eh?)! HoLy PiPeRoNi! It’s The Revenge of Casey Simpson! Casey Simpson ToTaLLy calls out Mace Coronel on Mace’s swag comment from our last KCA interview! HoLy PiPeRoNi! The #HuMoNGoID new Disney Channel show Andi Mack ToTaLLy crushes the field! Terry Minsky returns to Disney for the first time since Lizzy McGuire (which is in our very top tween shows of all time) and we’ve got Peyton Elizabeth Lee (Andi), Asher Dovangel (Jonah Beck), Joshua Rush (Cyrus), Sofia Wylie (Buffy) AND Emily Skinner (Amber) here to talk boys, girls, characters, crushes and on vs. off-screen chemistry! THIS is precisely what we’ve been hoping to see from Disney Channel. Background? OK! Disney and Nick have long been avoiding what’s called “low concept” shows (see this article on adamfeinsilver.com). Development execs told us following pitch meetings for a show we’re working on (hint) that they only want “high concept” and didn’t want shows with “kids at school or at home.” Weird? YES! We’ve listened to you guys for like…over 9 years…and good low concept shows always work (i.e. Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, Girl Meets World!) Maybe it took Terry Minsky to get things back on track. Hmmmm!? Anyway, Andi Mack (aka Andiland) is AwEsOmE! In addition to Terri Minsky, Michelle Manning is on board! Michelle is behind Teen Beach Movie 2 and Disney’s remix of Adventures in Babysitting! So, we had some special insight (i.e.. the original script) into what was coming…and saw some changes that made the show a fit for Disney. Seriously! Somehow, TeamPiper had not one, but two interviews stashed away with me talking to Rowan about Girl Meets World (aka El Mundo de Riley), her cast and more from before the show launched! OMG! This is our 250th Piper’s Picks TV episode🎉; our FIRST interview with Griffin Gluck; our LAST Piper’s Picks TV episode of 2016, our FIRST episode where we live streamed while the interview was being filmed; and the FIRST time we drove onto the Universal Studios backlot for an interview (and had a backstage tour tram hot on our tail - very PiPeRDeLiC experience). He’s Scotty Fleming in Why Him? and is in upcoming movie The Boxcar Children: Surprise Island along with Joey King and some other people you’d recognize. Some of you also probably remember Griffin from Red Band Society or Private Practice (always awesome to appear on a Shonda Rhimes show)! Happy Holidays, PIPERazzi! So, we were looking through some footage from this past year and remembered that we were saving this MeGa-AweSoMe interview with my favorite TV Mom, Amy Duncan! I was sooooo excited to meet Leigh-Allyn Baker at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House Celebrity Stuffathon! It’s the first time we’ve met and she had her SuPeR-CuTe little guy, Griffin with her! I’m guessing that I was the first person in a while to ask her about Charmed! Yes, as a Piper…who was named after Piper (Halliwell), I’m a HuMoNgOiD Charmed fan! Leigh-Allyn had an awesome (and somewhat freaky) story about an almost close-call with a Panther on set! She was on a bunch of episodes in Season 1 as Hannah Webster! If you haven’t seen Charmed, you have, like…a MUST-ADD for your Netflix account. (Off-subject, there’s an awesome song replacement we ran across called “Banging Away,” by Christine Harris, on We All Scream for Ice Cream (Season 3, Episode 10). Somehow, it’s almost unknown (and took forever to track down).) Of course, we also talk a little about Good Luck Charlie, mostly when Griffin held back…not at all…on his feelings about the show! He’s soooo cute…and so funny! One of my favorites parts of the day was when Leigh-Allyn went a bit Amy Duncan later that day when trying to corral the huge group of us into a group photo. #MomGoals The event was a special one for Leigh-Allyn. She had hosted the previous few #CelebritySTuffAThons as well as this one. After a week off for my Green Day American Idiot performance (I played the feisty teen Heather), we’re back with the follow-up to our Disney Channel Mech-X4 interview from a few weeks ago with show creator Steve Marmel (ya didn’t miss it, right? HoLy PiPeRoNi! It’s Jake Paul! Yup! We were just hanging out at Starlight Children’s Foundation’s 2016 #DreamHalloween event (more 411 below) and we ran into none other than entrepreneur, actor, Vine star, and just a kewl guy himself, Jake Paul! There are so many ways you might know him. Jake is one of the MeGa-HuMoNgOiD Vine break-out stars; a star on Disney Channel’s Bizaardvark (he plays Dirk); he’s in movies (he even wrote one of them…watch for Airplane Mode), and, most impressively, he’s an entrepreneur (a real one).
Trivia Time…6 Degrees of Separation: Jake recently appeared on The #AskGaryVee Shooooowwwww. Piper recently appeared in a video she submitted to the same show too (see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUBVXzzIGOo&t=18m2s ). BTW…I’ve been following up, Gary…and I’m still waiting on a time for my interview! OK, moving on…
So, Gary has become a mentor to Jake (like so many other people). Gary is also an investor in Jake’s startup, TeamDom, a business focused on building brands around Teen entertainment and media. Yes, yes it does sound like a great partner for what we’ve been working on. 😃 Jake also is part of Team 10 ( http://www.team10official.com/ ). All that, and he’s still 19 years old. So, for those of you who ask how I’ve gotten to do what I do…I’m definitely not the only busy teen.
Jake was one of many celebrities in attendance at #DreamHalloween, a special event for hundreds of kids supported by LA area hospitals who were able to attend, thanks to Starlight’s Sponsors. We happened to be at the event because Nintendo, one of the main sponsors, invited us to attend.
We know a lot of you guys are involved with community service (maybe on your own or through school or through an outreach group). Piper’s Picks highly recommends taking a look at Starlight Children’s Foundation. Starlight (http://starlight.org) is on the front lines when it comes to helping seriously ill kids. There are over 30 million kids in the United States alone suffering from serious illness. These kids are often in the hospital for a long time and bravely taking on painful and scary medical treatments. Starlight helps our smiles on their faces. We covered a Starlight event in the past. They always go all-out for seriously ill kids and put everything into making their lives a little more magical. They’ve been at it since 1982. It’s really amazing to see how much goes in to their work.💖 |

It’s MeGa-PiPeRiFiC double-episode! The Princess of the Press meets up MARK BALLAS not only from Dancing with the Stars, but now Frankie in the HuMoNgOiD Broadway musical JERSEY BOYS! The timing is ToTaLLy AwEsOmE because Piper is currently working on a musical production of AMERICAN IDIOT from Green Day! Mark knows the musical and is a big Green Day and Billie Joe Armstrong fan himself, so there’s a LOT of info in here for anyone interested in dancing, Broadway, auditioning, etc. OH, of course ALL of this takes place at a launch party for NINTENDO’s YO-KAI WATCH 2: BONY SPIRITS and YO-KAI WATCH 2: FLESHY SOULS! It turns out that Mark has been a Nintendo fan pretty much all of his life. He was at the event as the spokesperson and he led us through the Yo-Kai Dance! Speaking of dancing…and “Billie,” part 2 of this episode is with BILLY BLANKS, JR., son of TAE BO creator BILLY BLANKS and major fitness instructor and personality on his own! Soon, here’s the dealio, yo! Sgt. Burly from Yo-Kai Watch is actually based on BILLY BLANKS! BILLY BLANKS JR. was brought in by Nintendo to play Sargent Burly! He showed us the new dance that features Sgt. Burly too. HoLy PiPeRoNi! BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD is 4-sure on my list as one of our most #PiPeRiFiC interviews in the past 9 years! She is sooooo sweet, smart, pretty, and everything else MeGa-AwEsOmE I can think of! We talked about nearly everything from dragons (PETE’S DRAGON, of course) to dinosaurs (yup, JURASSIC WORLD 2 inside info) to Fonzie (Henry Winkler…I’m ready for an interview) and Olaf (Josh Gad) to Stella Adler and acting! Bryce has forged a path ToTaLLy her own with a really intense and awesome acting background including several years at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and the Stella Adler Conservatory! She put in a ton of work way before meeting Spiderman and an Indominus Rex! #GirlPower major! Soooo…for anyone who actually doesn’t know (and since I don’t have an interview to show you…yet), Bryce’s Dad, Ron Howard, is in some of the best shows in American TV history (Happy Days, The Andy Griffith Show, etc) and has created some of the most fun and popular movies since then! (We read that Bryce was hidden somewhere in Whoville as a scared Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas!)
